Dynamic Content is an outstanding feature for organisations that want to tightly target their recipients - or those who just want to enhance the user experience. Effectively, the content that is displayed varies from recipient to recipient based on your selection criteria.
The Dynamic Content module allows you to vary the content in your email according to the recipient's preferences or demographics.
As a simplistic example, if you have 'State' in your database, you might create some Dynamic Content that is the top story for each state. This means that people in Perth are reading about things that happened in Perth, and not being bored or turned off by things that happened in Hobart.
It needn't be rocket science either. Whilst an extremely powerful feature for those that need it, the Dynamic Content can be as simple as a different image (favourite product, photo of the local manager) or a different link (an email sent to the respective state sales manager rather than the national sales manager)
The effect is amazing. The recipient receives content that is entirely relevant to their situation and preferences. Naturally such campaigns are much more effective.
